- Identify the type of animation you want to create (introduction, information, etc.)
- Solidify the narrative/content
- Draft a story board (images and content)
- Script and record audio (if applicable) for your narrative

Best Practices and Helpful Hints
- Based on research done to ascertain viewer habits, most animations should be limited to 2 minutes.
- Choose content that can be used over multiple semesters.
- If you have a longer project, consider splitting it into parts
- If you are using a voice-over:
- Script the narrative first
- Do audio edits prior to animation production
- Embed closed captions for ADA compliance
- Make sure you are using open licensed images for any external image use
- Do not export your animation until you are in your final draft stage
- Save your work frequently
- Make sure you are building with reliable hardware and internet connection
- Review your completed animation from the student view. Check for flow, timing and responsivity (i.e. functionality on tablets and mobile devices).
